For a number of years we have taken a group of youth to Newday with a team of adult leaders. We have an amazing time worshipping, learning more about God, eating, serving each other and chilling out together. Over the years we have built up a large amount of equipment that we take with us, which is only possible through the generous gifts of money we have received from donations, grants and gift days.
The team of leaders is always brilliant and they work hard during the week as well as having a lot of fun and also learning from the teaching. The catering team keep us well fed, which is a huge job, feeding us three times a day with a great variety in the meals.
The week is jam-packed full of teaching, worship and seminars and between all of these there are plenty of other things to do from dodgems to football, book shops to milkshake stalls, hair and nail bars to pool tables. No chance of getting bored! If none of those things take your fancy there are always people on the Jubilee area of the campsite to hang out with and we take some crafts, board games and guitars to keep us entertained. If the weather is particularly good we may even break out the water guns!
Each morning before breakfast there is an opportunity to share things that God has spoken to us about and worship God together. This is a great start to the day and is always encouraging.
On our return to Jubilee we find that we all know each other a little better, but more importantly most of us know God a little better too. We are able to share some of the best parts of the week with the rest of Jubilee during the Newday Feedback service that happens in one of the weeks following Newday.
